The Greater Boston Center for Healthy Communities (GBCHC) is a program of Health Resources in Action and is funded by the MA Department of Public Health, Bureau of Substance Abuse Services. GBCHC staff work with communities to prevent and reduce substance abuse, including underage drinking, prescription drug abuse, tobacco use, opioid overdose, marijuana, and other illegal drug use. We help communities apply a proven model, the Strategic Prevention Framework, and promote the use of policy, systems and environmental change, evidence-based strategies and programs to achieve results.
